A few times a year Culver City CERT needs volunteers to be “victims” for Basic Training Final Drills and other Drills. CERT can use anyone over 11 years old as “victims.” CERT also needs locations for Drills.
Volunteer “Victims” act as injured persons for CERT Training Activities. Volunteers should wear old clothing that can get soiled. Moulage is used for some drills. The ability for CERT Members to practice their skills on real people makes their training more realistic and valuable.
Volunteer “Victims” can get community service for school, scouts, or other organizations. If you want credit for your community service please bring your community service form with you for one of our Instructors to sign.
CERT would like to have regular drills to practice skills needed in a disaster. One of the biggest obstacles to holding a drill is finding a location to have the drill. Volunteering your location so that CERT can practice their skills assists in keeping Culver City being better prepared to respond to a disaster.
Single Family Homes
CERT needs people to volunteer their front yards at times for drills. This can be when CERT is holding a drill in your neighborhood or when CERT has a citywide drill.
Condo Complexes and Neighborhoods
CERT would like condo complexes and neighborhoods to volunteer to host a CERT Drill.
